I’m Katie

your postpartum hype girl

For many years, Katie aspired to become a nurse midwife. After graduating from nursing school in 2012, she quickly embarked on a career as a Labor and Delivery nurse, where she discovered her deep passion for women’s health. Over time, however, after experiencing numerous emergency C-sections and the unpredictable nature of childbirth, Katie realized her true calling was in women's health within an outpatient, more natural setting.

With a decade of experience as a fertility nurse, Katie gained invaluable insights into conception and labor. However, when she became a mother herself, she was unexpectedly faced with the challenges of the postpartum period. Despite her expertise, the complexities of postpartum recovery caught her by surprise.

Following the birth of her daughter, Olivia, Katie experienced feelings of isolation, fear, and confusion. The realities of breastfeeding, understanding her newborn’s needs, and managing household responsibilities left her overwhelmed. She often felt as though she was struggling in silence, unable to openly express the emotional and physical challenges she was facing. However, after extensive research and learning about the "fourth trimester," she became better prepared for postpartum recovery following the birth of her son, Leo. This time, she enlisted the help of a postpartum doula, sought support from family and friends, and utilized placental encapsulation to ease her postpartum anxiety.

Katie is now dedicated to sharing the often-overlooked and vulnerable aspects of the postpartum experience, striving to create a more open dialogue in a society that often discourages such conversations.

Her mission is to help new mothers navigate the postpartum period by creating a safe, supportive environment that allows them to bond with their newborns while shutting out external pressures. Katie’s approach centers on building confidence, fostering emotional well-being, and ensuring new mothers are able to remain present in the moment, rediscovering the joy of newborn bliss.
